Jarrell, Texas is one of the fastest growing places in the state of Texas. Located in Williamson County, about 12 miles north of Georgetown, it was founded in 1909 by real estate developer O.D. Jarrell. Wikipedia says that the town was founded at the intersection of an old stagecoach road and the Bartlett and Western Railway.
Since then, and beginning about 2005, Jarrell began to grow when Developer Theron Vaughn began the development of Sonterra on the east side of IH35. Along with that, business development began in earnest along IH35 on both sides.
In about 2010 Troy Bradshaw purchased land on the west side and built a business park as well as developed over 300 homesites in “The Homeplace.” Soon after that, with a roaring economy, developers began to purchase tracts of land to add hundreds more homes.
Growth along this corridor in Jarrell is inevitable. It is to the credit of Jarrell that it has a stable, conscientious government that maintains fiscal stability, while addressing the impending growth.
With a fast growing school system that works hard to accomodate the needs of every student, Jarrell currently has one high school, one middle school, and two elementary schools, with more growth imminent.
Jarrell is a great place to raise a family. People go north to Killeen and Temple to work, and south to Georgetown, Round Rock, and Austin. For business, Jarrell is uniquely located directly in the center of the Killeen-Temple markets to the north, and the Georgetown, Round Rock, and Austin markets to the south.
Currently, homes in Jarrell are appreciating at about the rate of 12 percent annually, with many national and local home builders on the scene. You’ll find Cen-tex, D.R. Horton, LGI, Lennar, and many local builders are moving in with development projects. Homes are priced from $225,000 to around $400,000. Currently, new single family and multi-family are being constructed as well.
If you’re looking for country living with easy access to amenities, then Jarrell is the place for you.
